FT. LAUDERDALE, FL -- Downpour will embark upon the next stage of their legacy as a three piece. The line up will include Singer/Songwriter & Guitarist Jason Canary, Bassist J. Deno Brown, & original drummer Carol Ascari. Carol & Deno will bring in back up vocals as well. The New Configuration will debut The Metal Factory on May 10, 2001.

Originally this was to be a Reunion of sorts with Mike Hertel playing his last show with the band on May 10th or possibly in the Rolling Rock Battle of the Bands-- Downpour, however, was not selected to participate in the battle. Jason, Deno, & Carol have decided that since the band is to continue as a three piece they might as well jump in feet first at the May 10th Show. The band wishes Mike the best of luck in his future endevours---

As for Artie Manno, The band understands the he is presently auditioning players to form a new project. All differences aside, the band wishes him luck in this and hopes to see him on the scene soon!!!

FT. LAUDERDALE, FL --Yet another chapter of "As the Downpour Turns" -- A personality conflict between Singer/Songwriter & Rhythm guitarist Jason Canary and most recent Drummer Artie Manno escalated to heated proportions. Thus Artie is no longer the Downpour Drummer!!!

To add to the let down Mike Hertel, Downpour's screaming riffs, has taken this opportunity to bow out of the band to focus on more spiritual pursuits after fulfilling his commitment for the Metal Factory show on May 10th. Also the band has entered the Rolling Rock Battle of the Bands in conjunction with the Town Fair Tour-- If the band is selected to participate Mike is also considering holding off his resignation---

As for the vacancy on the Drums, Carol Ascari , Downpour's original drummer has come to the rescue and will be performing with the band for the up coming show-- A Reunion!!!!

Carol is excited to be back and plans on working with the band indefinitely-- For the time being Jason, Deno, & Carol have been rehearsing as a three piece and plan on taking this configuration to local area stages-- Stay tuned for further details!!!!

FT. LAUDERDALE, FL - For several months Downpour has been in the audition mode - Earlier this year Mike Hertel & Carol Ascari left the band for personal reasons, leaving Jason Canary
J. Deno Brown in the position of having to rebuild the band.

Numerous guitarists and drummers were brought in during this time. Much to Jason & Deno's dismay they were no closer to finding the musicians needed to complete the Downpour rebirth.

In walks Artie Manno, a New York native only 2 years in South Florida. Artie showed a talent and personality that would breath life in the now defunct Downpour and was enlisted immediatly on drums. The beats began to come together, although a very important element was still missing!!

Downpour, being primarily a guitar rock band, sadly missed the chops & licks of a strong lead guitar presence. As frustration set in Jason was contacted by former Downpour lead guitar, Mike Hertel. Upon hearing Downpour's delima, Mike aggreed to sit in at rehersals to lend the sadly needed lead guitar presence. Mike, only after a few sessions decided he would like to return to the band as a full fledged member.

With Mike now holding the reigns at lead guitar, the band decided to close the chapter on the original configuration of Downpour by releasing "Let The Music Reign" - a 7 song compilation CD at Mp3.com - The CD contains the bands original 4 song demo plus 3 tracks recorded live at Kim's Alley Bar In Ft. Lauderdale.

Downpour plans to debut its new line up at the Metal Factory in Ft. Lauderdale in the next few months. As well as live performances, the band plans to begin laying tracks for a full length CD.

Check back often for more details about the band!!!!!

J. Deno Brown, the Downpour bass " We've been down for the last several months, but we are back!!! Bigger & Better than ever!!! Our fans will hear much of the material where we left off, as well as a few new numbers with more on the way!!!! Our Sound Jams, the new configuration with Artie on drums will be a show you won't want to miss!!! -- Peace Out"
