.........Jason
is an experienced, versatile musician and songwriter, specializing melodic
hard rock. After growing up in Southern California area, Jason played extensively
in the clubs around Hollywood and Los Angeles. Band credits include D'Arrest,
Just Reward, and Cathouse Mouse.
Jason's creative influences
include Led Zeppelin, Areosmith, Nirvana, and Pearl Jam, among others.
Jason Moved to South Florida
in 1996 to further his career in technical construction sales. Missing
his musical release, Jason placed an ad looking for players to form a new
band. Mike Hertel
of Downpour, looking to add a rhythm guitarist contacted Jason's ad. After
meeting they found that their individual songwriting talents complemented
each other very well. The two, after discussion with the other members
of the band, decided that a collaboration under the name Downpour would
solidify the group as a driving force in the Local South Florida music
scene.
Early 2001 saw Mike
leave the group with Carol, Jason, & Deno firmly inplace, Tony Colella
was added to the line up on lead guitar. The Group then decided on Filmore
Street to replace the Downpour moniker!!!
The rest of 2001
saw Filmore Street open for such national acts as "Draw
the Line" , An Aerosmith Tribute band - "The
Soft Parade" , A Doors Tribute band, and the Southern Rock Masters
"Molly Hatchet" as well
as finish their 3 song demo "Road
Work Ahead"
January 2002 saw
Carol leave the band to get married and Tony left to pursue his education
at Full Sail in Orlando -- Deno & Jason worked diligently to replace
the missing players. as of april 2002 not having found the players needed
the future looked dim.
Adam of The Factory,
Ft. Lauderdales Premier Rock club called to say that "Burner"
, a Fellow South Florida Rock act had just been signed by Arctic
Records, wished that Downpour would play their CD release party. Downpour,
now being Filmore Street.
Deno & Jason
on a whim called Mike Hertel & Artie Manno formerlly of Downpour, both
of which were excited to play. Thus bringing the Downpour Players together
as Filmore Street. |
